The top image is the new, re-created book cover.
The below are the front and back of the original book cover:
Week 8 Graphic Designer (Andrew Fairclough)
A self-taught illustrator, designer and art director at Kindred Studio, Andrew Fairclough started out designing skate and snowboard graphics and has moved on to work with top clients including GQ, American Express, Jack Daniels and Penguin Books. His work is inspired by mid-century spot illustrations with a dash of vintage sci-fi and comic art, and he enjoys working with a limitred palette to evoke the nostalgia and tactility of found art.

Week 7 Graphic Designer (Mister Doodle) @misterdoodle on Instagram
Mister Doodle is a designer who specialises in handcrafted typography. The pairing of beautiful scenic photos, thought-provoking sincere quotes and carefully crafted hand-type makes for an Instagram that just about everyone can find something of value in.
Personally, I'm a fan of quotes and this amazingly talented guy adds so much to his quotes with the typography and background. I enjoy his page very much and I highly recommend following him on Instagram.

The end is near
Hi everyone....
Just a heads up that the term is over... The registrar is closing the grading portal first thing on the 13th... so... It is important to finish up your work by the Sunday at noon so that I can do the grading Sunday afternoon to meet the deadline. Feel free to revise or amend any previous work up until that date.
It was great to work with you this mod... Have a great graduation (if you are graduating) and a great summer!

Twombly retired from Adobe and
from type design in early 1999, to focus on her other design interests,

Maureen Ciardiello, Week 8 – Graphic Designer, Otl Aicher
Otl Aicher was a German born graphic designer and
typographer. As a teenager during the
Hitler regime, Aicher initially opposed the Nazi’s but eventually was drafted
into the army. He continued his
resistance by making several attempts to leave.
Eventually he was successful and deserted the army and went into hiding. After the war, Aicher went on to study at the
Academy of Fine Arts in Munich. He
co-founded the Ulm School of Design and immersed himself on branding designs
for corporations in addition he contributed to rotis font design. One of Aicher’s famous campaigns was the work
he contributed to the 1972 Summer Olympics having designed among other things
the signage used during the games represented by stick figures. Some of his other well know designs are the
logo for Lufthansa and signage used in the Athens Airport.
You can see Aicher's use of the Swiss style below, especially in his Lufthansa logo. I like the use of colors and his fun way of transforming stick figures into action figures for the 1972 Olympics. Finally, I have a love for duchsands. His colorful pooch design in the third graphic was based on his own dog, Waldi.
Maureen Ciardiello, Week 7 – Graphic Designer, Katherine McCoy
Katherine McCoy is an American graphic artist and educator,
born in Decatur, IL on October 12, 1945.
She was inspired to become an industrial designer after a visit to the
Museum of Modern Art in New York. After graduating
from Michigan State University with a major in Industrial Design, McCoy landed
a job at the notable agency, Unimark International. It was here that McCoy was able to go in
depth in typography and study over books by some of the great graphic artist
such as Ruder, Gerstner and Hofmann. She
went on to the Chrysler Corporation, Omnigraphics, Designers & Partners and
eventually finding her own agency along with her husband, Michael, McCoy and
McCoy Associates. Shortly after the
founding of their agency, the couple were asked and accepted the opportunity to
be the co-chairs of the design department at the Cranbrook Academy of Art. Although not initially wanting to work in academia,
McCoy stayed at Cranbrook for 24 years eventually moving on to contribute to other
schools such as Royal College of Art and Illinois Institute of Technology. She and her husband are still active in
education.
