Robert Gill

An artist who focused heavily on arts & crafts, operating in a communication surrounding manual labor, opposed to ever growing popular commerce aociwty around him. He became a Roman Catholic, and even assisted in founding art groups for Catholics. Ironically his religious beliefs were opposite of his personal (sexual) lifestyle. He had many affairs and even sexually assaulted his dog, and close family members. Professionally, he made many war memorials after World War I. As well as three of eight relief sculptures on the theme of winds for Charles Holden's headquarters for the London Electric Railway (now Transport for London) at 55 BroadwaySt James's
