
Reza Abedini born in Tehran in 1967 is an Iranian
graphic designer and professor. His method of creativity blends modernism and
traditional Islamic patterns, calligraphy and culture together. He merges
typography and elegant layouts to show off the beauty of the Persian language.
Alongside of being an artist, Abedini is also an art critic, independent art
director with Reza Abedini Studio and the editor-in-chief of Manzar magazine.
Before creating all his magical art work, Abedini
graduated from the School of Fine Arts in Tehran majoring in graphic design.
After, he went on to his second degree at Tehran University of Art majoring in
painting and earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1992. All the way up until
1993 he was the editor of the visual section of Sureh Monthly Magazine and in
1993 was when he found Reza Abedini Studio.
Abedini has earned dozen of international design
awards including the Principal Prince Claus Award in 2006. This was awarded to
him for his personal creativity in his innovative thinking of art. Combining
the historical parts of Iranian culture and the modern Iranian culture and
making the art interesting and influential. Abedini’s name is also listed in
Megg’s History of Graphic Design as one of the world’s outstanding post digital
graphic designers.
