Part one of the poster assignment is to take an existing type heavy Swiss poster and reproduce it as perfectly as possible but at high resolution and with every element re-cast or re-set. The resolution should be 12" x 17" at 240 dots per inch. Because the newly redesigned poster is high-resolution when loaded into the blog, it will take over the whole screen when clicked on.
Part two of the project (following week) is to design your own poster using a current event, preferably a cultural event like a concert or art exhibit. You will show that you have learned about grid design, hierarchy and type, and the clarity and simplicity that comes along with a Swiss design approach.
