Davis Carson is renowned graphic designer, art director, surfer and one of the original "grunge typographers". He has worked for many magazines as head art director. Some of these magazines include Transworld Skateboarding and Transworld Snowboarding, both to which I have had a subscription to since my early teens. His work on the logo for these infamous extreme sports magazines has graced the cover since he began as art director. I currently have several limited edition articles framed in my room that he was a part of. It is very interesting to see how graphic design relates to each of us in many ways without our knowing.
David Carson represented a break with the old in terms of the formal clarity of the Bauhaus he sought to refresh American design by breaking a few rules and embracing the new.
