Tom Eckersley was an accomplished teacher and poster artist
born in Lancashire , North West England in 1914. He is known as the first modern graphic designer
as well as for creating the first undergraduate course in graphic design. Eckersley used clean, geometric shapes that
mimicked a cut paper collage style.
His minimalist designs had a way of expressing a lot with a little. He was commissioned to create posters for
well known organizations and companies such as Guinness, Gillette, United
Nations and Unicef.

Good... he died in 1997....Hi clean simple designs are reminiscent of Swiss Poster design which we will study as part of this class....
