Week 1 Graphic Designer Profile - Eric Carle




Eric Carle is a well known children's author and illustrator who began his career as a graphic designer for The New York Times.  Born in Syracuse, NY  in 1929 to German immigrants, Carle moved back to Germany with his family, where he grew up and was educated.  Missing his American home where he was born, Carle came back to the United States and moved to New York in 1959.  Recognized for his artistic ability and was asked to illustrate for author Bill Martin, Jr.  Some of Carle's famous books include, Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See? and The Very Hungry Catepillar.   Below is an image of the latter.
