I chose to write about Nadhim Ramzi he was a graphic designer, calligrapher, photographer, and a painter. Ramzi was best known for documenting life in Iraq from the 1950s. From all indications, for the most part, according to his biography, Ramzi was self-taught. He loved his country and its people that was his motivation the unpretentious rawness of his surroundings. he loved nature he taught himself to draw birds at an early age. He was consumed with Islamic Geometric patterns, he would watch as the local artisans created patterns to be used for ceramics and carpets. Nadhim taught himself to paint like the local artist. When Ramzi was 16 he received a camera as a gift he taught himself the art of photography.
In the early 1960s, Ramzi traveled to Paris where he was introduced to printing methods and various techniques. He intern returned home to Iraq and opened his own print shop in Bagdad, it was noted as the best print shop in Iraq. He had a love for his people and his country and all things beautiful. In my opinion, there is something to be said for a self-taught artist. Many renowned Artist were self-taught inspired by the beauty from within.
