April Greiman, who grew up in New York with a computer analyst father and meteorologist brother became known as the artist who embraced the computer and computer programming in regard to art, as just another tool to use. It is no accident she embraced computers the way she did, she was surrounded by them as a child. At a time where many thought the use and integration of computers into the artist world would compromise creativity, she promoted just the opposite. An eccentric woman, who rather than refer to herself as a graphic designer called herself a trans-media-artist, she named her agency "Made In Space". She is currently location in Los Angeles, creating and teaching under the pretense that art "...blends technology, science, word and image with color and space..."One of her most recent works titled "Hand holding a bowl of rice", is interactive yet creative, and has a freshness about it.
